Las Iguanas – Southbank

Las Iguanas – Southbank

Recently, while my mom was in town visiting we were wandering around the Southbank and decided to have some lunch at Las Iguanas. We started out with some drinks at the bar while we waited for our table. I had a Brahma beer from Brazil which was really delicious. Mom had some wine. Another thing I love about the UK (and Ireland) is they have half pints.

We started out with some Gambas

Greedy whole prawns, split & cooked in a garlic, lemon & chilli sauce, served with ciabatta.

and some Cha-Cha Chorizo
Smoky pork & garlic chorizo, braised slow & lazy with onions in red wine, tomato & smoked jalapeño sauce. Along with some Albondigas. A Patagonian recipe of lamb meatballs with apple, parmesan, mint & a pinch  of nutmeg. Braised in a rich tomato, mint & mild red chilli sauce served with spring onion, garlic & coriander rice. Sprinkled with grated parmesan. Nom Nom.

This is The Extraordinary XinXim
It was Extraordinary too! Lime chicken in a crayfish & peanut sauce with spring onion, garlic & coriander rice & fine green beans. Toasted coconut farofa to sprinkle, sweet plantains for fun.

And it ended with a Latte, as all meals should.

All in all I’d recommend this place to anyone. The interior was well done and cozy, the staff was friendly and the food was deliciouso!

  • I absolutely love this post. If I sit still for a few moments I can remember the cool mist brushing against us as we walked towards the restaurant. the atmosphere was warm and friendly and the decor was attractive. We sat down at the little bar and ordered drinks and inhaled the aromas of the steaming hot food bring presented at the tables. It was “glorious”! I am smiling! Thank you my precious Angel for the opportunity.
