While in Dallas in November, on Sunday morning my friend and I went to breakfast at this little place called The Original Pancake House. On Yelp it said to call ahead and put your name on the list because it gets busy and I am so glad we did! We got there about 45 minutes later and we sat on the bench with people waiting everywhere. I mean on the sidewalk and benches outside and the interior waiting room, everywhere was packed. So we walked up to the hostess and we were next on the list! Lots of evil eyes and 2 minutes later we were seated at a table and an extremely friendly waitress was taking our drink order. I got this thing called a Dutch Baby.
I hadn’t heard of it before, but I will. never. forget it! It was so delicious. A pancake, of sort, with butter, powdered sugar and lemon juice. What!?!?!?! Lemon juice? Uh… yeah. It was delicious.
I came back home and thought about looking up the recipe but with work and other stuff occupying my days and nights I let it pass hoping to come across it again someday on a breakfast menu. Then a friend told me about this beautiful blog she’s following Elephantine and I checked it out. Not only do I have a girl crush on this lady now, but it will be one of the blogs I follow daily. And wouldn’t you know… she has a recipe for Dutch Baby! Pinned it!
Such a good day.
