Creative Stitch + Hobby Crafters Expo
I should have written about this weeks ago… when I actually went. It was out at the Excel London.
I’ll say I had never been to a craft expo before and had no idea what to expect.
I am overwhelmed right off the bat when I saw this pile of yarn at the first booth and women just wading through it.
Luckily the rest of the booths were a little tidier and not so chaotic.
I have a dream that one day I’m gonna make me a quilt… or a table runner… or something with these lovely pieces of fabric.
They had some workshops that filled up quick with sewing tutorials amongst other things.
These ladies were participating in a community project called the Craft Club Link Up…
there were some gents working away too.
There were booths for card making, embroidery, cross stitch, art supply booths, food booths, block printing, screen printing… the list goes on and on. I would like to go back to one of these one day and be actually looking for something for a project. At this point I was just curious. I love craft. I, like millions of others, cruise through Pintrest dreaming of all of the lovely little creations I will make one day and fill my home with. But this time it was more of a recon mission.
There was even a fashion show
I think these blocks are magical and they fill me with so much excitement!
They’re so lovely I want to just hang them on my wall!
I went to a talk give by Dionne Swift about her work which was very cool. It was fun to listen to how she finds her inspiration and what her process is. She makes beautiful pieces… the picture below is from her site. She offers online workshops too… I’m curious about her screen printing workshop.
And then I headed home, because I was all crafted out for the day.
